Clarity. Verified. Serenity.
Verification is. Here's exactly how a fitting works at Serenity Hearing Centers, and why that's different from what most guests have experienced elsewhere.
Research going back to 2010, revisited at the American Academy of Audiology's 2021 conference, found that only about 30% of hearing care providers regularly perform real ear measurement — the step that confirms a hearing aid is actually programmed correctly for the person wearing it, instead of a generic formula. Roughly 7 out of 10 hearing aid fittings in this country are handed over never checked against the person's actual ears.
In my own practice — over 18 years, more than 38,000 hours — I've seen guests who came to me already wearing hearing aids fit somewhere else, and the majority of them were fit incorrectly, regardless of what they paid. It's not that the hardware is bad. It's that real ear measurement gets skipped industry-wide far more often than most people realize.
Advanced technology still needs comprehensive audiologic best practices to deliver its potential.
Screened. Verified. Promised.
A full hearing test, speech-in-noise testing, and a cognitive screening. You leave with a written report, every hearing aid option available to you, and the one that best fits your budget — no guesswork. We also check your medical insurance benefits for free, before cost ever comes up.
It's free — no cost, no obligation.
Schedule Now →Your hearing aids are verified against your actual ears with real ear measurement, then proven with live speech mapping using a real voice — not a beep in a booth. The cleanest sound delivered to your brain, confirmed, not assumed. You leave independent and confident, not just fitted.
Uncompromising follow-up and care, for as long as you're a guest here. Every 6 months: full cleaning, professional drying, a fit check, and firmware updates. Annual re-screening, because hearing changes, and nobody should have to notice that on their own.
In 2022, federal rules created a new category of over-the-counter hearing devices, specifically to make help more accessible. We think the intent was genuinely good. But in our own experience, guests who've tried an over-the-counter device — especially in noisy rooms — more often than not tell us it didn't really work for them, and at least one well-designed randomized trial has found no meaningful group-level difference in speech-in-noise understanding for self-fit devices after six weeks.
Our honest read: making a device more accessible and removing a professional from the room were never really the same fix for the same problem. A device nobody verifies against your actual ears has no way of knowing whether it solved the thing you bought it to solve. That verification — not the device alone — is what the Serenity Optimization Method™ is built around.
We work with nearly every major hearing aid manufacturer, including Oticon Zeal, so the recommendation you get is based on what's actually right for your hearing loss — not on a quota.
